1. ابدئي بالملف النهائي

1. Start with the final file

Open the downloaded PDF in a PDF reader, rather than printing a screenshot or the website preview. Check the page dimensions and any instructions supplied with the file before buying paper. The First Year Book is not available yet. This guide offers general advice, not confirmed settings for the unreleased file.

اختاري حجم الورق المطابق للملف. إذا كانت الصفحات بحجم A4، استخدمي ورق A4. خيار الحجم الفعلي أو 100% يحافظ على أبعاد الصفحة. خيار الملاءمة قد يصغّر التصميم أو يكبّره. افحصي الحواف والنصوص باللغتين قبل طباعة بقية الصفحات.

2. Print one page first

Choose paper that matches the PDF. If the pages are A4, use A4 paper. Actual size or 100% preserves the original dimensions. Fit can shrink or enlarge the design to match the printable area. Print one representative page first. Check that both languages are readable, nothing is clipped, and the writing areas remain comfortable. If edges disappear, check printer margins and the supplied instructions before changing the scale.

3. اختاري ورقاً يناسب الكتابة

3. Choose paper you can write on

Try uncoated paper with the pen you intend to use. Smooth, glossy photo paper is not always comfortable for handwritten memories. Use only paper weights your printer supports; its manual should give the range. On the test sheet, check ink drying and whether writing shows through to the reverse. Test your pen on a spare sheet before buying a full pack.

4. اختبري ترتيب الوجهين

4. Check double-sided printing

Do not assume the file is arranged for double-sided printing. Follow its instructions first. For portrait pages turning like a book, long-edge flipping is usually the starting point. Print two consecutive pages as a test and turn the sheet yourself. Check the reverse is upright and the pages are in order. Printer labels vary, so the test matters more than the setting name.

5. اتركي مساحة للتجليد

5. Leave room for binding

Before punching holes or binding, check that the binding edge clears every prompt and writing area. A ring binder can make pages easier to add or replace, if the margins allow it. At a print shop, ask for one proof sheet before the full run. Agree on paper and binding only after seeing that proof. Keep your original PDF safely so you can print a replacement page later.
